Brief Culinary Rant

This rant is about several things, as you will see.

Lamode's bakery was supposed to be my interpretation of a Robin McKinley coffeehouse, but there is a real French bakery in my neighborhood called Le Royal. It makes the best croissants I've ever tasted, and really good hot chocolate (which they offer with or without sugar). Two brothers from France started the business, and they greet every customer politely.
. . . if I ever draw a strip about them, I'll send them the original.

The best breakfasts in the worlds are the ones that require little preparation and keep you from craving other sweet stuff. The best foods are savory foods like eggs and tofu, combined with a sweet carbohydrate.
The big thing with egg whites, though, is that they aren't that hard to make, but at the same time easy to mess up. Also, undercooked eggs resemble Jello, unlike solid tofu and granola bars.
I'd love to invent the perfect breakfast, with 3/4 of the meal savory and the rest sweet. Everyone says, "Eat breakfast," but I say, "Eat vegetables for breakfast." I'm less likely to overeat if I have an egg white in the morning.

Also, I want to try to make the perfect dessert fondue. I've had good cheese fondue in Switzerland, but not so good dessert fondue in the US. For one thing, the chocolate dip needs to be hotter and more flavorful. Also, only one type of cake is offered; the other dipped goods involve fruits. I love fruits as much as anyone else, but with pastries they tend to taste bitter because they're not as sweet. It would be better to have only pastries and certain fruits to dip so that the taste buds only have a pleasant experience.
I want to create a variety of dessert fondues, like ones with vanilla sauce, caramel, or other flavors because my mom and brother don't have my chocolate craving. It would make an interesting book to read, like In the Devil's Garden by Stewart Lee Allen. (Read this book, by the way. It's awesome.)

Speaking of which, I have the book on GoodReads, so you can look me up and see what I'm reading.
